Kenneth Blake is no stranger to the entertainment business. With two well-known musicians in his family, he was exposed to the “rock-n-roll” lifestyle at an early age which fueled his ambition to become a stage performer and tempered his musical abilities. In 1987, Blake saw the Broadway musical “LaCage aux Folles,” and his life changed forever. Female impersonation was to be his destiny. Blake entered and captured the titles of Miss Gay Arizona America, Miss Gay Western States America, and Miss National Capital Cities US of A – all beauty and talent pageants designed for female impersonators. His career in female impersonation really took flight when he appeared as Dolly Parton in the short lived Boy-lieve It or Not! He then moved on to Lake Tahoe’s longest running stage show Carnival Cabaret were he performed the likeness of Marilyn Monroe, Reba McEntire, Celine Dion, Judy Garland, and Dolly Parton. However, it was his fast-paced spot on illusion of Madonna in that show’s finale that got him noticed by Las Vegas producers. In 2004, Blake opened for “An Evening at La Cage” in Las Vegas as Madonna, Dolly Parton, and the signature piece “What Makes a Man, a Man.” He remained there until the show’s closing in 2009. When offered the position in an all new production, Blake jumped at it. Blake now works 6 nights a week as Madonna, Dolly Parton, and what has become his signature piece “What Makes a Man, a Man” in “Frank Marino’s Divas Las Vegas.”
